About wine
Cuvée: Merlot 10%, Cabernet Sauvignon 90% The different stages in the making of wine are done with the greatest care, combining traditional methods and modern techniques. Harvest from 4am to 10am to have fresh grapes. Then we start a cold maceration in tank, during six or seven days. After the controlled fermentation and a long maceration, the wine matures in tanks and barrels during 24 months. Then it is bottled and stored in impeccable conditions. Emotion Grande Réserve 2000 is composed by a main part of gravelly ground. This cuvée is the result of a strict selection of old vines, to obtain a very rich wine where tannins, fruits and oak make harmony. Dense but supple. Offers a ripe bouquet and flavours of plums, cocoa, vanilla and old spice. When compare this year with 2000 vintage, we can find a bit more oak there. A beautiful wine.
About vineculture
Gérard and Albine Laurencin arrived in Bordeaux in 1987 with their three children Valérie, Gilles and Sophie, to manage a property inthe Premières Côtes de Bordeaux. In 1995, they bought 30 acres of red vines to create their own wines. In 2005, to anticipate their development, they invested in 10 acres more. After his studies of mechanical engineer, their son Gilles started to work on the family property and went to the University of Oenology in Bordeaux. Situated on the outskirt of Bordeaux, the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux are eminently suited to vine growing with their excellent sloping sunny exposure. Therefore << Château Rauze Lafargue >> disposes of a south-east exposure on its plateaus and east-west one on its gradients. The ground of Vignobles Laurencin is composed of clayey graves in a large part, but also of deep clays that are associated with chalky clay too. Distribution: private clients, restaurants, vinotheques, export (USA and GB). Now also in the Czech republic.
